LinkedIn endorsements are not proof of a person’s skills. Rather, they are a tradable commodity on the business networking site. Used more for the SEO benefits associated with numerous endorsements, people on LinkedIn endorse their connections with the knowledge that they are likely to get reciprocal endorsements. It’s an “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” mentality.
